Purpose

Why am I doing this?

Writing has always been a challenge for me. I could barely write an essay during exams, and to be honest, I never liked writing. Back then, I never had any thoughts prepared, which made the language exams particularly difficult since they were the only occasions when I had to write against my will. Reflecting on my school days, I realize that my poor grades in language subjects were largely due to the essays and letters, which carried substantial weight.

Every single time, the essay topics would revolve around environmental issues, travel experiences, or similarly generic subjects that popped up repeatedly, boring me throughout. While environmental issues are important, being asked about the effects of global warming every semester felt monotonous. More interesting topics, like emerging technologies or renewable energy, would have been more engaging. I don't remember ever being asked about Mangalyaan or Chandrayaan-1 in our language exams. I hope that has changed now, as I believe it helps students stay in touch with current affairs.

The same was true for letter writing. Countless times, I wrote letters to municipality officers complaining about roads and drainage systems in my locality or wishing "Happy Diwali" to a fictional sibling living in another country. Come on, it's been a long time since WhatsApp introduced video calls! Indians today are among the largest consumers of data. The world has evolved significantly, but our school system hasn't.

Thankfully, I was surrounded by an excellent group of friends who encouraged me to experiment, explore beyond the syllabus, and understand topics from different domains. They are the reason I read some of Stephen Hawking's books. For the first time, I encountered the term "general relativity." Although much of it was beyond my technical understanding, this habit of exploring new ideas shaped my personality considerably. More about these amazing friends in forthcoming blogs.

Now that I am in my fourth year of engineering with only a few credits left to earn, I have decided to write. It's something I wanted to do for a long time, but I was searching for a free platform 😄. The best part is that I get to choose my topics, which might range from books to cinema, food to friends, and more, without taking a lot of time from my schedule. There is nothing specific about this blog. Through this journey, I intend to learn from the comments you all will post.

I look forward to this new adventure in writing and hope to grow with your feedback and support.

Updated Monopoly: The Cashflow game (part 1)

This is the Cashflow Board game created by Robert Kiyosaki  If you have read my previous blog on Monopoly and understood what I was trying to say, Cashflow is the next game you should be playing. While Monopoly is about understanding how to acquire and leverage assets in the gameplay, Cashflow is much deeper than just acquiring the asset.  Just a small introduction to this game… The outer circle is about having a big goal in life, like owning a stock market, creating a forest, etc. Along that way, you will find plenty of business deals like, buying a food chain, taking the risk of losing money while exploring for oil, etc. The inner circle is where you are in a Rat Race, having a job 9–5 and earning paycheck to paycheck. Throughout the game, you devise a strategy to deploy with whatever job you might get. For instance, you might get a job as a janitor for which the pay scale is small, or you could get a job as a lawyer with a high pay scale. But to make it a fair g...
